Skullcandy Titan review

In this Titan review, we will be looking at the company’s latest in-ear headphones; the Skullcandy. The Skullcandy Titan is ranked above the company’s Smokin’ Buds headphones, but below their Full Metal Jackets (FMJs).  Albeit it is not rated as Titan’s top headphone, some says it is definitely the best sounding earbud for the Titan company, hands down.

With all the in-ear headphones in existence that cost less than one hundred and twenty dollars for the pair; the Skullcandy Titan has the best mixture of dynamic punch, near neutral tonal balance, and a healthy amount of sonic detail and subtlety.  This is noticeable specifically in the midrange.  This is a good thing since that is where music actually takes place.  These headphones really give you great value for your money.  Admittedly there as small issues with the Skullcandy Titan, such as the bass being a little what they term as overripe, as well as the bass being what is referred to as a little too forward. However, those are really small issues, especially when compared to all its other great qualities and inexpensive cost. Experts say that when you are in areas that have a lot of background noise that is low-frequency, such as in a moving car, a little forward bass actually works better for you.  With the foregoing said, at fifty dollars, the Skullcandy Titan is a very good deal at a very small price for all that it offers.

The Titans are so good that they are able to capture all different levels of texture in a voice like a Patricia Barber, who has a voice that is smoky and dark.  It can also clearly capture those different shades of sounds in Dave Douglas’ trumpet solo that is in the middle of Barber’s song I Could Eat Your Words. Other headphones are just not sharp enough to pick up all the tonality that the Skullcandy Titan does.

In addition to all the other features of the Skullcandy Titan, it is also incredibly lightweight.  The expandable foam eartips that fits to the contours of your ear canals, are so very comfortable.

In conclusion, the Skullcandy Titan is without a doubt, the best economical in-ear headphones that are now on the market.  They sound far better than many headphones that are much more costly, offering you so much in an in-ear headphone that is lightweight and comfortable, yet costs so little.
